Located deep within the remote Peruvian Andes, MACHUPICCHU is a unique place in the world, visited by hundreds of thousand people every year. Most take the train to get there, others hike the famous Inca trails for around 4 to 5 days. But just a few crazy and cool people like us will get there as sportively as possible by biking, hiking, rafting, rock climbing and more. Passing through the most amazing places located around Cusco and the sacred Valley of the Incas, this is the most complete MULTISPORT ADVENTURE TOUR we have designed for all of you. During this amazing tour, we will explore and arrive to very high and breathtaking mountain views with amazing landscapes, glaciers, herds of llamas and alpacas, lagoon, rivers, hot springs, small villages and many ancient Incan trails that we will ride on, passing by the salt mines, some Inca sites and other attractions until we arrive to MACHUPICCHU. This MULTISPORT ADVENTURE involves history, culture, amazing places, delicious food and lots of good fun every day.

Day 1: Cusco – Walking Tour

Our adventure begins at the Cusco airport, where the guide will welcome you and take you to the hotel where you can get comfortable and rest for a few hours. Then we will go to enjoy a delicious welcome lunch where the guide will inform you in detail about this great MULTISPORT ADVENTURE TOUR. At the end of lunch, we will take a leisurely tour of the city and different points of interest such as the colorful local market of SAN PEDRO, the bohemian San Blas neighborhood, the historic center and much more. Overall, today’s purpose is to take it easy to get used to the altitude so that our bodies will be ready for all the cool adventurous activities during the next coming days.

 

Day 2: City Tour – Horseback Riding

We will start this adventure exploring the Majestic Andes and its amazing places riding a very friendly horse, and of course have a great day enjoying our first activity. After a hearty breakfast we will board a car and head to the countryside of Cusco to a very nice ranch. Here, we will learn about the horses, how to ride them, and choose the right horse for each of you. We will ride the horse around beautiful mountains with amazing landscapes. During the horse ride, we will visit some Incan remains as SACSAYHUAMAN, QENQO, PUKAPUKARA and secret ones in order to learn more about the incredible Incan culture.

Finishing our adventure, we will go back to Cusco and enjoy a free afternoon to explore the attraction that the city offers.

 

Day 3: Zip Line – Atv Sacred Valley

Today we will go to the highs of the Sacred Valley of the Incas for another cool adventure. By riding ATVs through nice roads, we will see colorful farming lands, big mountains, huge glaciers, beautiful valleys, lagoons and swamps that have a good number of local wild birds. This adventure starts in Cusco. After 1 hour of driving, we arrive to Chinchero where we will witness the handmade weaving of alpaca fabrics at a women’s co-op. Then we head to a unique corner of the Sacred Valley where we are going to enjoy an exciting adrenaline-infused view by riding a zip line 1000m long. After finishing this fun activity, we swap to ATV. The guides will explain very well about how to drive the ATVs safely. Once we are ready, we start exploring these mountains driving by nice dirt roads full of beautiful landscapes. During this time, we will see glaciers, farming lands, big mountains, rivers, lagoons and also pass by some small villages of shepherds. After exploring this area in such a cool way, we drive back to the start point to drop the ATV off and return to Cusco.

 

Day 4: River Rafting

It’s time to meet the Inca’s sacred river, the Willcamayu! This river flows through a very fertile valley which owes its name to the river, passing around MACHUPICCHU to finally join the great AMAZONAS river. Today we head to the south of Cusco, after 2 hours we arrive to Cusipata where we start this great adventure. We get all the equipment and a great explanation about what to do during the time we are on the river so we can enjoy this adventure as much as possible. The river is little cold but very fun, and depending on the season, we can get from 2 to 5 rapids. Once we finish this activity, we will return to Cusco. On the way back we will do a stop for those who want to visit the most beautiful Spanish colonial chapel of Andahuaylillas, also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Andes.

 

Day 5: Maras Moray Mtb – Skylodge

Another incredible day exploring a very popular and unique destination around the sacred Valley of the Incas. There’s no better way to explore it than by riding a bike through the different exciting MOUNTAIN BIKE trails that will take us to incredible places where we can learn more about the living culture of Chinchero. We will also visit the magnificent Incan agricultural laboratory of Moray and the colorful salt mines of Maras. Visit all these places enjoying a MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURE riding through the different trails surrounded by impressive landscapes where we can observe lagoons, mountains and glaciers, all of them full of life and colors. This is a complete MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURE complemented with history, culture, tradition and a crazy night sleeping in a suspended capsule at 400 m away. When we finish biking, we will head to Pachar, where this sky lodge is located. Once we get the equipment, we start our 400 m climb on the cliff side following a via ferrata. After 1 hour we get to our new and unique room. The capsules are made of high resistance aero-space aluminum. Each capsule has many windows, 4 beds, and one bathroom. At night, we will enjoy a delicious dinner with a bottle of wine and gaze out to the Andean sky with its thousands of stars and the amazing milky way.

 

Day 6: Ollantaytambo

The sun wakes us up with an amazing and unique view of the sacred valley. Although it has been so cool to spend the night in such an incredible place, our journey must continue. So, it is time to leave, but not before we enjoy a very delicious breakfast at high altitude to then go down to the sacred valley. And the question is how? By zip line of course!! We will zip line down to the foothills of the mountain where our transport is waiting to take us to Ollantaytambo. Here, we do a small hike and then enjoy some downtime to ponder this beautiful place and consider the last Incan living town.

 

Day 7: Km 104

Today is the beginning of another great adventure, one in which we will hike a thousand-year-old Incan trail that will take us to the most spectacular place in the Peruvian Andes. This adventure begins with a train journey following the sacred river of the Incas. During 1 hour of travel we will be able to observe the great snowcapped VERONICA 5750 m, as well as different archaeological remains, passing from the high mountains to the cloud forest of the upper jungle where life is more abundant. Upon reaching our destination, we head to the control point and start with this amazing hike in which we can visit archaeological remains, enjoy beautiful landscapes, refresh ourselves in a beautiful waterfall. We will be following the sacred path that will take us to the Sun gate, from where we can observe the enigmatic citadel of MACHUPICCHU. Once we get there, we can enjoy a unique sunset on one of our favorite MACHUPICCHU balconies. After this great moment, we head to the bus station to board the bus that will take us down to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.

 

Day 8: Machupicchu

Today is one of those once in a lifetime days because we will explore the sacred citadel of MACHUPICCHU. After a delicious breakfast, we head to the bus station that will take us back to MACHUPICCHU, a journey of approximately 30 min. Once in Machupicchu, we will have a guided tour by an expert and thus learn more about this ancient culture. We will explore the entire citadel for approximately 3 to 4 hours in which we can take a short hike that will take us to the Inca bridge along a spectacular path. We leave the Inca bridge and return to make a complete tour visiting sacred temples, royal houses, main squares and all the important places that this sacred citadel has to offer. After an amazing tour from corner to corner it is time to say goodbye to this wonderful place and return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train that will take us back to Ollantaytambo, and then to CUSCO.

 

Day 9: Departure Day

We know that travel is often more than just crazy and extreme adventures and that many travelers want to extend their trip within Peru.
